What is your name?

Elizabeth

Treasury Analyst

Yes, owner of Temi African Groceries Ltd and also occasionally support with events.

Describe a typical day in your life

Go to work, do school run, and delivery of some orders relating to my business.

Are you married?

No

Do you have kids? If yes, how many?

Yes, 1

How do you manage your day-to-day activities considering all your commitments?

My day job is quite flexible. Having excellent time management is essential, this enabled me to balance other commitments.

How did you get to the position of work you are in? Please provide practical steps you took to get to where you are now.

Based on my university degree, I took a year placement working as a Treasury Analyst and fell in love with the role. Since graduating I continuously worked as a Treasury Analyst in different companies having broad understanding of the role. Although, my roles has changed over the years from Back Office to Middle Office to Treasury Accountant and now back into Treasury Analyst but with more focus on Treasury related projects.

Were there any challenges or blockers on your way to becoming who you are now? If yes, what are those challenges?

No as I was fully determined and focus in achieving whatever I set out to achieve. The only challenges I encounter will be in my business and of course raising a child alone

How did you overcome these challenges/blockers if any? Please share the practical steps you took.

In my business, the challenge I had was to do with importation logistics and the more I grew in the business the more knowledge I have and the best logistics to use for imports. And in terms of my child, I made more friends with other mums where we support one another.

Who is your role model and why?

My Mother! Her heart and her strength is beyond this world.

Do you have a mentor or a coach? If yes, which one? if not, why not?

Not at the moment. it’s the time commitment and I tend to watch a lot of podcasts.

If you are married with/without children, how do you balance/align your home commitments with your career/side hustle workload?

Time management, which I have already mastered as I am currently doing because I have a child. If I have more children, it will be the same. Ensuring I work in a company that supports family and work balance and also, plan my business around my family.

What one piece of advice would you give to other women about them stepping into their power and purpose unapologetically?

  • Don’t give up even if it looks tough, in everything ensure God is involved and you will succeed

Thank you so much for your time, Elizabeth. We celebrate you today and always.

Happy International Women's Day! #iwd2023 #iwd
